You will find posts of interest to me about activities, mainly in amateur astronomy.

If you are interested in the history of aviation I am posting galleries of my photos in the near future.
In the meantime here is a link to our last holiday blog. Getting to Tahiti is a long trip in one go so adding a few stops along the way seemed sensible. And it’s the excuse to visit friends in far flung parts.
If you found me while looking for amateur astronomy in Berkshire, UK, you should go the website of the Reading Astronomical Society. There you will find information of practical help with observing and telescopes and we hope you will join the society.
There is also a page on light pollution. Superficially you will think this is just amateur astronomers trying to improve the environment for themselves. In fact most of us are as apathetic as anyone and just use it as an excuse to buy better equipment or take trips away. The real scourge is the effect of losing contact with nature – the night sky is the only bit of raw nature that is everywhere and for everyone – and the effect on wider society. Putting up poor outside lighting is a REALLY GOOD way of annoying the neighbours!
